My 4th piece, I decided to do shoes as my everyday object. When I was taking pictures of my shoes for my reference photo, it took me a while to get a good picture. I could not figure out a good angle and it took me a while. After I got a somewhat decent photo, I quickly put together a prismacolor drawing of it. I did not spend too long on it and I am not that proud of how it looks. If I could redo this project I would. I really do not like the shoes because they just do not look realistic to me especially the shoe in the right back corner. I think the way I drew it made it look a little small and out of proportion to the other shoes. I do like the wall color I put in the piece though because it does make the shoes pop more.
So following my concentration idea of doing an everyday object, my classmate, Emmaly, gave me a great idea of doing a painting of a painting. After I took some pictures of Emmaly painting, I decided to put a palette in my piece to make it more interesting. I am really proud of how Emmaly's hand in the painting looks. I also really like the paint in the palette with the highlights. You can really see where the light is coming from in the whole piece and the shadows really help bring them out. If I had time I would go back and put more texture into the wood table because I think that could make the piece even better. I think I could also add darker shadows under some of the objects. Overall, I am pretty happy with how this turned out with the amount of time I had.
